Our Approach

Garage and utility spaces require surface-specific products rather than generic interior paint. We begin by assessing the floor surface — whether it is bare concrete, previously coated, or suffering from damp — and select the appropriate system. Bare concrete is etched, primed, and coated with a two-part epoxy or single-component polyurethane depending on traffic levels. Walls in below-ground garages are tested for moisture and treated with Dulux Trade Damp Seal or Ronseal One Coat Damp Seal before painting. We use light, bright colours — clean whites and pale greys — to maximise the effectiveness of any artificial lighting. Anti-condensation paint on ceilings in unheated spaces prevents dripping and mould formation. The whole process is typically completed within a few days and transforms a neglected area into a clean, functional part of the home.

Materials & Brands

Floors are coated with Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield, Watco Epoxy Floor Paint, or Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Paint. Walls receive Dulux Trade Diamond Matt or Dulux Trade Damp Seal where moisture is present. Ceilings are painted with Johnstone's Anti-Condensation Paint or Dulux Trade Supermatt. Metalwork is protected with Hammerite Direct to Rust.

Property Considerations

Basement garages in Mayfair and Belgravia townhouses are often accessed via narrow ramps or car lifts, and ventilation can be limited during painting — we use low-odour products and ensure mechanical ventilation is running. In mansion blocks, communal garage areas may require freeholder approval and coordination with other residents. Utility rooms adjacent to kitchens need rapid completion and products that are fully cured before heavy use resumes.
