Why We Stand Behind Our Work

A guarantee is only as good as the company that offers it, and ours reflects a genuine confidence in the way we work. When you invest in professional painting and decorating, you should not have to worry about peeling, cracking, or lifting within a few years. If it does happen, it almost always means something went wrong during preparation or application — and that is on us.

Our five-year guarantee exists because we know that meticulous preparation, premium materials, and experienced decorators produce results that last. We spend up to 70% of every project on preparation alone — cleaning, sanding, filling, and priming — because that groundwork is what makes a finish endure. When you combine proper preparation with premium paints from brands like Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, and Mylands, the result should comfortably last well beyond five years.

What Is Covered

Our guarantee covers defects in workmanship across all aspects of the decorating work we carry out. This includes:

  • All interior and exterior paintwork applied by our team
  • Wallpaper hanging, including seam integrity and pattern matching
  • Surface preparation work, including filling, sanding, and priming
  • Wood staining and varnishing on interior joinery
  • Specialist finishes including limewash, distemper, and lacquer work
  • Any remedial work carried out as part of the original project scope

What Is Not Covered

Certain conditions fall outside the scope of our workmanship guarantee. We are transparent about these so there are no surprises:

  • Damage caused by third-party trades working after our completion
  • Normal wear and tear in high-traffic areas such as hallways and staircases
  • Structural movement, subsidence, or damp ingress affecting painted surfaces
  • Colour fading on south-facing exterior surfaces exposed to prolonged UV light
  • Damage resulting from client alterations, impacts, or inappropriate cleaning methods
  • Surfaces where the client has supplied their own paint against our recommendation

How to Make a Guarantee Claim

If you notice an issue with any work we have completed, the process to resolve it is simple. We aim to make the experience as hassle-free as the original project.

Contact Us

Get in touch by phone or email with your project reference number and a description of the issue. Photographs are helpful but not essential at this stage.

Inspection Visit

We will arrange a convenient time to inspect the area in question, typically within five working days. Our project manager will assess the issue and determine whether it falls within the guarantee terms.

Remedial Work

If the issue is covered, we schedule the repair at a time that suits you. Remedial work is carried out by our own decorators using the same premium materials as the original project, at no cost to you.

Guarantee Terms

Our guarantee runs for five years from the date of project completion, as confirmed in your completion certificate. The guarantee is tied to the property, not the client, so it remains valid even if the property changes hands during the guarantee period.

The guarantee applies only to work carried out by Belgravia Painters & Decorators employees using materials specified in the original project proposal. If you choose to supply your own materials against our recommendation, those materials are excluded from the guarantee, though our workmanship in applying them is still covered.

We ask that any claims are reported promptly once an issue is noticed. Delays in reporting can lead to further deterioration that might have been prevented with early intervention. All claims should be made within the five-year guarantee period.

Our guarantee does not affect your statutory rights. In all cases, we aim to resolve issues amicably, quickly, and to your complete satisfaction. We have been in business since 2015 and our reputation depends on honouring our commitments — which we take seriously.
