Decorating Arundel Gardens

Arundel Gardens is a handsome mid-Victorian stucco terrace street running through the heart of Notting Hill, parallel to Ladbroke Grove and overlooking a long communal garden square. The street is part of the Ladbroke Estate's planned development from the 1850s and 1860s, characterised by imposing four and five-storey stucco-fronted houses with grand porticos, original iron railings, and generous internal proportions. It remains one of the most architecturally consistent and sought-after streets in the Ladbroke conservation area.

The tall stucco facades of Arundel Gardens are prone to cracking and carbonation over time, requiring careful crack repair and the application of vapour-permeable mineral or silicate paints that allow the render to breathe.
